Why Sales?

Sales is one of those rare skills never taught in schools yet needed everywhere, whether you’re convincing a college, a team, or an entire company. It’s the quiet force behind every opportunity.

Stepping into sales threw me directly into the minds of people: how they think, choose, and react. For a designer, that understanding is priceless because the user is always the center.

I was especially drawn to it because sales is a core skill for any leader or entrepreneur, without it, even the best vision goes unheard.

So I chose this path, far from my formal training, to push myself, communicate better, and deeply understand people; growth that I know will make me a better designer.

Chapter 1 | Novatr

Novatr (formerly Oneistox) is a Y Combinator-backed AEC-tech startup that empowers professionals to upskill in cutting-edge technologies shaping the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry. Through industry-relevant online programs in BIM, computational design, AI in design, and more, Novatr blends expert mentorship with hands-on projects to equip learners for future-ready careers in AEC.

Roles & Responsibilities

I joined Novatr as a Senior Program Consultant in the sales team, with two key focus areas.

First, I consulted students, architecture professionals, and firm owners on the strategic adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM), demonstrating how it could enhance workflow efficiency, reduce costs, and improve project outcomes.

Second, I collaborated closely with users and industry experts to gather insights into their evolving needs, working with cross-functional teams to support product development initiatives.

Since joining Novatr in January 2024, I contributed $175,000 in individual booked revenue within nine months, becoming one of the top-performing members of the team.
